While potent and brawny with bruising black plum and blackberry flavours, this full-bodied, ample Syrah possesses a salty mineral intensity that lends freshness. Sourced from the sandy soils of the Guadalupe dune complex in Santa Barbara, it's a stately wine with intensity and power but also a divine silkiness. Vinified with roughly 60% whole clusters and indigenous yeasts, and matured predominantly in neutral, large-format barrels for 14 months.
Bedrock's entry-level 2022 Syrah is sourced from declassified fruit from vineyards including Hudson in Napa Valley and Bien Nacido, White Hawk and Nolan in Santa Barbara County. Fermented with 40% to 50% whole clusters and matured in puncheons and foudres, it opens with soaring violet perfume and wafts of blackcurrant, pepper, mint chocolate and charcuterie. The medium-bodied palate offers floral flavors structured by rounded tannins and juicy acidity, and it has a long, easygoing finish.
