The 2018 Esprit de Pavie is unusually rich and dense. Dark cherry, plum, chocolate and licorice are all pushed forward. Plump, juicy and bursting with fruit, the Esprit is an absolutely delicious wine in its price range.

Approachable and with the signature sexy, full-fruited pleasure of the Pavie stable, this displays sappy, rich black and red fruits. There's no need to wait to drink this. The yields are the highest in Pavie's range, at 48hl/ha. 3.78pH.

The 2018 Esprit de Pavie is a blend of 65% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc and 15% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep garnet-purple colored, it leaps from the glass with bright, cheery notes of Morello cherries, black raspberries and fresh wild blueberries, plus hints of tobacco leaf, underbrush and potpourri with a waft of Chinese five spice. Medium to full-bodied, the palate delivers mouth-filling black fruit flavors with a chewy texture and just enough freshness, finishing just a tad rustic.
