Domaine Drouhin Chardonnay "Arthur"

A wonderfully complex and contemplative Chardonnay, comprised of estate Dijon clones planted in 1990. The wine was whole-cluster pressed with a portion fermented in French oak barrels and the rest in stainless steel – compelling aromas of lemongrass, toasted hazelnut and clover honey. The Arthur strikes a remarkable balance with the oak elements, providing depth and rich tones of nutmeg and coriander. At the same time, the stainless steel brightens the honeyed pear and orange oil flavours, creating a gorgeous texture and a refined finish.

The 2021 Chardonnay Arthur offers pure, ringing tones of yellow pears and apples, clover honey, elderflower, hay and allspice. The light-bodied palate has a deep core of spicy apple fruit that gives way to expansive, honey-nut tones. It has a balance of mouthwatering acidity and a long, perfumed finish.
