Blackberries, cherries, roses and spice come together to form a darkly alluring mix as the 2019 Rosso di Torgiano Rubesco opens in the glass. It’s silky, almost creamy in feel, with polished red fruits that are nicely balanced by salty-savory mineral underpinnings. A tart twang of wild berries and nuances of sour citrus linger on, as this finishes with tension. The Rosso di Torgiano is primarily Sangiovese with a dollop of Corolino.
