Montepeloso A Quo Toscana Rosso

The 2023 A Quo is a very pretty and delicious entry-level offering from proprietor Fabio Chiarelotto. Crushed berries, flowers, orange peel and spice lend notable freshness, but it is the wine’s effusive charm that wins the day. There’s so much to like here.

The Montepeloso 2023 A Quo is a blend of 55% Sangiovese and 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, with other grapes, such as Malvasia Nera, Montepulciano, Marselan and Alicante Bouschet, in smaller percentages. It opens to a fragrant and rich bouquet with heavy tones of baked plum and dark fruit. Despite the intensity and ripeness of the wine's aromas, the mouthfeel is not especially lengthy. This is a fun, easy-drinking Tuscan red made from an unusual blend of grapes. Production is 81,000 bottles.
