Black medicinal cherries, cloves, dried flowers and hints of camphor create a spicy bouquet as the 2021 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Sirio slowly opens in the glass. This is silky in texture with a balanced sweetness; licorice-tinged red berries and saline-mineral tones caress the palate. The 2021 finishes remarkably pretty, leaving nuances of lavender and rose that linger on. Nicely done.
