Symington Quinta da Fonte Souto Branca

The 2020 Branco is a 75/25 blend of Arinto and Verdelho aged for seven months in a blend of French and Central European oak (50% new) and stainless steel (although the stainless component is only 10% of the whole). It comes in at 14.5% alcohol. Reasonable in concentration, this is a bit flinty in its favor profile, perhaps due to wood artifacts. There is enough acidity to help. It's a substantial white whose fruit eventually rises up. Well balanced, it should make a good food wine.
