Mashed with local pilsner malt along with a considerable amount of dextrin malt for increased mouthfeel and foam stability. Reasonably hopped with citra along with wai-iti and moteuka, a few favorites from the southern hemisphere. Steeped on loads of fresh lime basil, grown in our annual garden at Whippoorwill Farm. Hopped somewhere between our Nebo pilsner and offerings from our west coast pilsner series, pesto is a snappy little lager with a humble hop presence and a botanical backbone. Home to our production facility, Whippoorwill Farm is also home to a sprawling annual garden used to grow ingredients for both our brewing and kitchen programs. An ingredient we have long used in a myriad of different beers, lime basil is a unique variety of basil boasting huge zesty lime aromatics. This garden harvest estate lager is a perfect example of how we continue to quest on our mission to create beers with a sense of place and agricultural purpose.
