Ripe black cherries, leafy underbrush, iron, black raspberries, and floral nuances all shine in the 2022 Pinot Noir Suerte Solomon Hills Vineyard, a rivetingly pure, medium-bodied 2022 that has fine, integrated tannins, a layered, multi-dimensional mouthfeel, and a great finish. It's layered, nuanced, and complex, with an incredible sense of purity and class. Drink bottles any time over the coming 8-10 years.

The deepest and darkest of Paul Lato's Pinot Noir offerings, the 2022 Pinot Noir Suerte Solomon Hills Vineyard opens with intense, perfumed aromas of blueberries, black plums, black tea and rose petals. On the palate, it perfectly marries the restrained opulence and subtle concentration of the house style with the site's classically lifted, ethereal texture. The finish is long, layered and saline, capturing both vertical focus and horizontal richness in great detail. As impressive as this is at this early stage, it was still quite buttoned up and will surely unwind after a year or so.

The 2022 Pinot Noir Solomon Hills Vineyard Suerte shows all the pedigree of this site, even in this challenging vintage. Black cherry, mocha, new leather, licorice, plum and cloves are all amplified in this large-scaled, broad Pinot. The only limiting factor here was the vintage.
