This huge but soft-spoken wine is massive in concentration and tannin structure yet comes off subtle and brooding at first. The nose is deep in black cherries, blueberries and dark chocolate before plump, satisfying black-fruit flavors coat the palate, embraced by waves of fine-grained tannins.

A big, broad style, with waves of cassis, kirsch and plum reduction flavors pouring through, flanked with a roasted apple wood note and backed by a long, well-buried cast iron spine on the finish. Shows a late bittersweet cocoa echo from the overt dose of toast, but the fruit is there for cellaring. Best from 2025 through 2038. 94 cases made.

The main production at this estate, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Meadowrock Vineyard Estate Grown features attractive scents of black cherries, licorice, creosote and camphor. It's full-bodied, plush and creamy, richly concentrated and textured on the palate, then shows a bit of warmth, softly dusty tannins and bright acids on the finish.
