Intense, still-bright garnet-red in colour. Fruit aromas underscored by a lively acidity integrated with notes of tar, tanned leather, and graphite evolving with the passing of time. Complex in mouth, with polished tannins, fresh fruit and firm structure in perfect balance. Long lingering finish.
Excellent with roasts and wild game, dishes with truffle and aged cheeses.

All these wines in this flight from Andrea Oberto show a powerful 15% alcohol content across the board. It's all a bit much. The 2018 Barolo del Comune di La Morra reveals ripe fruit, dried cherry, black rose and toasted anise. The bouquet is very pretty indeed, but the muscle of the mouthfeel suggests a pairing with grilled or skillet-seared meat.
